Welcome Dr. Strickland !
We are
very excited to introduce to you our new partner, Dr. Rod Strickland. Dr.
Strickland will be bringing some unique and highly specialized services to
our practice and we feel that all of our patients will benefit from his
experience and training. Along with being highly skilled in cosmetic
dentistry, Dr.Strickland places and restores dental implants and offers
neuromuscular orthodontic treament of TMJ. Following is some
information to help you get aquainted.
Dr.
Strickland grew up in Albany, Georgia, but his father was transferred and he
attended high school in Indiana.
After graduation from High School, he attended Indiana University,
where he studied molecular biology. While there, he not only attended
classes, but also participated in cutting edge research in the field of
molecular genetics. In fact, his work resulted in him co-authoring a
scientific article that appeared in a most prestigious journal, SCIENCE. He
then was granted early acceptance, after only 3 years of undergraduate study,
into Indiana University School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of
Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
Dr. Strickland has pursued extensive post-graduate continuing education in
Cosmetic Dentistry and Neuromuscular Dentistry. He is among the world's
highest trained graduates of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental
Studies (LVI). LVI is considered the world's most prestigious post-graduate
dental education institute.
In the year 2000, Dr. Strickland was the overall winner of the first ever
Dental Design Competition, placing 1st in office design and 1st in
high-technology integration. This competition is sponsored by Dental
Economics, a leading dental publication and is open to offices all across the
U.S.
After 12 years of practice and building a very successful office that drew
patients from all across Indiana and the
surrounding states, Dr. Strickland decided to relocate back to his home state
of Georgia.
Dr. Strickland holds licenses to practice dentistry in Indiana and Georgia.
He held an appointment as Faculty-Practitioner, a volunteer position for the
Indiana University School of Dentistry, for more than 10 years. Dr.
Strickland maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association,
Indiana Dental Association, Indianapolis District Dental Society, Chicago
Dental Society, Georgia Dental Association, The International College of
Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, and the Academy of General
Dentistry.
Dr.
Strickland and his wife Lori have 4 beautiful children.They
plan to make their new home in Bluffton,
South Carolina. We are looking
forward to him joining our team full-time by this summer. Please help us
