Chewing Gum CAN actually help.

You may have heard in commercials that chewing sugarless gum can reduce your chances of getting cavities. Well, it's not often that commercials tell the truth, but... this is true! You see, the chewing action produces saliva. This saliva dilutes and washes away the sugar that accumulates on your teeth after eating. Further, the gum itself acts almost like a tiny wash cloth that is cleaning your teeth with each chew. But remember... use sugarless gum otherwise you're just putting more sugar on your teeth.
